We all have tried apple pies but cherry pie is just on another level…I mean the combo is just incredible!

There is nothing better from a flakey crunchy dough and juicy cherries. You ca make this Cherry Pie for your family and friends as well as for parties and gatherings.

If there is any Cherry Pie left and you need to store it then either placed it in the fridge for up to 6 days in an airtight container or leave it in a cool spot covered.

Description

New Cherry Pie recipe packed with delicious cherry juices & covered in a crunchy sweet dough! This pie is unforgettable as every piece melts in your mouth and gets better every bite along.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 6-8 tbsp ice water

Filling

  • 5 cup fresh cherries, cut in half
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp  cornstarch
  • 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg 
  • tbsp milk
  • Sugar (to sprinkle on top)

Instructions

  1. For the dough in a bowl add in your flour, sugar and salt. Then add in your butter and rub it against the flour mixture with your hands.
  2. Add in your water tbsp by tbsp, until a dough is formed.
  3. Roll out the dough on a lightly coloured surface. Then place the dough to create the bottom of the pie and trim the edges.
  4. In another bowl for the filling add in your cherries, lemon juice, vanilla, cornstarch, sugar and mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture in your pie and roll out the first of the dough to make the top of your pie.
  6. In a separate bowl mix your milk and egg and brush the top of the pie dough. Then sprinkle some sugar and bake for 40 minutes at 175°C.
  7. Let it cool fully before serving.
