Cupcakes are suitable for many occasions like birthdays, during holidays or even as an every day snack. Kids love these type of chocolatey cupcakes and adults love them too.

you have the chance to be a bit creative too and decorate it however you want with sprinkles or even some white American Buttercream.

These cupcakes can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days either covered with plastic wrap or in an airtight container.

Description

This cupcake is like a piece of heaven… it starts of with a moist Chocolate Cupcake and its topped with a rich and creamy Chocolate Buttercream!!

Ingredients

Cupcakes

  • 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

Buttercream

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 3 1/2 cups icing sugar
  • 3 tbsp cream
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Cupcakes: In a big mixing bowl add in your eggs and both of the sugars. Mx using a whisk until they are nice and fluffy.
  2. Add in your vanilla, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, oil and buttermilk. Mix until fully combined.
  3. Add in your flour and mix until the batter is formed.
  4. Line a 12-case cupcake tin with paper cases and divide your mixture evenly among the cases.
  5. Bake for 18-20 minutes at 175°C. & then set them on a cooling rack to cool down completely
  6. Buttercream: In a big mixing bowl add in your butter and cream using an electric hand mixer for 3 minutes until it whitens in colour and its nice and airy.
  7. Add in your icing sugar, cocoa powder and cream and mix for 3 more minutes until a smooth buttercream is formed.
  8. Place the mixture in a piping bag and start decorating your cupcakes.
