Chocolate is one of my favourite ingredient to use when it comes to baking so today I made these delicious Double Chocolate Cinnamon rolls!



  • 2½ + 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp Yeast (or 2 packages)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 egg


  • 3 tbsp softened butter
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup sugar


  • 100gr chocolate
  • 100ml cream



  1. In a large mixing bowl add in your 2 cups of flour, cocoa, yeast and sugar and mix using a spatula.
  2. Then add in your water, melted butter and egg. Mix until a thick mixture is formed for about 2 minutes.
  3. Then add in the rest of the flour and salt and mix until a dough is formed.
  4. Transfer the dough on the floured surface and knead by hand for 3-5 minutes until the dough is shining and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let it rise for 30 minutes at room temperature.


  1. When your dough have doubled in size, transfer it on the floured counter and roll it out into a rectangular shape.
  2. Spread the butter over the dough in a thin layer.
  3. Then in a small bowl mix your sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle it over your dough.
  4. Roll your dough from one side to the other carefully. When you reach the end, pinch the edges so the dough will not roll off.
  5. Cut your rolls and place them in a greased baking tin.
  6. Let them rise for 30 more minutes. After, bake for 25-30 minutes at 175°C.


  1. In a microwave safe bowl melt your chocolate and cream completely.
  2. Then pour it over your rolls & serve immediately.
