Trying the French Pâtisserie

About Me!

Hi, thanks for stopping by, my name is Anna Kosti and I am 17 years old. I live in Larnaca, Cyprus, with my family and I am still going to high school. I fell in love with baking since the age of 9! I started with simple recipes to making complicated and fascinating desserts. I am planning to join university next year, overseas, to become a professional pastry chef.

Have you ever visited Paris? If not, you definitely need to…Paris is just incredible! I am not just talking about the huge historical attractions but also for their exquisite cuisine.

The French Pâtisserie goes way back, let’s say that France is the “Mother” of Pastry, its the place where the Pâtisserie magic began. It’s the Perfect place to try quality rare technique created desserts.

From something as simple and small as a macaron to Croquembouche towers! Let’s start with the small pastry shops in the streets. They offer some of the best pastries I’ve tried in my life made with love and filled with history. These small boulangeries in the streets are the perfect way to start your trip to Paris…& you should definitely try their French Croissants.

I tried pastries from more than 3 places while I stayed in Paris, and I have to admit that each of them had their unique style and taste, but what they had in common was their french delicate technique. Paris is known for their excellence in Pastry and in my experience that statement s 100% true. I haven’t tried nothing in Paris that wasn’t tasty, all of their desserts are perfect.

Visiting Paris for a pastry exploration was a dream come true. Trying a variety of flavours and desserts made with different techniques made me understand the significance of Pastry in my life. That’s what encouraged my and intrigued my to explore it even more.

Here are some of my favourite places that you should definitely visit in Paris:

  • Pierre Hermé (Best macarons I’ve ever tried)
  • Paul Cafe
  • Crêpes from the street caravans near the Tour Eiffel
  • EL & N ( location: Lafayette)
  • Lindt Chocolate Shops
  • Amorino Ice cream shops (you should definitely try Hazelnut ice cream)
  • Ritz Hotel Pâtisserie Shop
  • Jean Paul Hévin (delicious chocolates)

If you visit Paris, don’t forget to add these places to your Bucket list!
